Parish Evaluation Project: Authority
(We apologize for last month's broken link. Here's another chance to read the article. The link has been fixed.)
The Parish Evaluation Project (PEP) based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin discusses the subject of "authority"--the ups and downs, critiquing, good authority, and using authority--in their December newsletter. Read their brief but insightful advice and observations here.

Featured this month:

Datebook Plus: In addition to the workshops and seminars listed on the Datebook Plus page, there is also a listing of books, under "Resources", that you may find of interest. In most cases the list price and publisher is noted/linked. However, the same title may also be available through amazon.com, often at a reduced price, and/or in an e-book format. We encourage you to explore these options if a particular resource sparks your imagination.

Child Protection: This month's featured article is an interview with Cardinal Sean O'Malley, Archbishop of Boston, and how he is still ministering--nine years later--to [that city's] victims of the clergy sex abuse scandal.

HIV/AIDS Education: This month’s article discusses the Books of Hope project which aims to enhance basic health knowledge in low literacy areas. This novel form of intervention may also have the potential to become an effective means of providing coping skills in HIV risk populations.

Immigration Alerts Page: Updates, changes and important reminders regarding immigration rules and regulations are listed on this site's Immigration Alerts page. Select the Features tab above and then Immigration Alerts from the drop-down menu.

On The Trail: See who's going where or doing what. Check out "On the Trail" -- a running list of grants approved for Province member's ongoing education and formation activities.

In the months ahead:

Saving Valuable Dollars: The fifth financial seminar in the series Saving Valuable Dollars will cover the topics of "Budgeting and Legal Management for SVD Pastors". A full program schedule and registration form for the seminar on June 3-6 at Techny will be mailed out in early March.

Summer Listings 2012: The 2012 edition for summer opportunites will be uploaded to this website in April. If you have any recommendations or would like to submit a review of a particularly worthwhile summer program, please forward them to educsvd@uscsvd.org. Your input will be appreciated.
