Christmas Holidays (2009)  On December 2 a group from the Techny SVD and SSpS communities enjoyed a trip to Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL for lunch and a matinee performance of "Plaid Tidings".

Study Day # 13 (2009)  On October 8-10 SVDs gathered at Techny Towers to hear presentations and discuss the Study Day's focus theme, "Pastoral Care of the Sick and Elderly."

Spirit of Chicago (2009)  On July 7 a group of 40 SVDs and Holy Spirit Sisters from Techny enjoyed a luncheon cruise on Lake Michigan aboard the Spirit of Chicago.

Noble Horse Theater  On December 9 SVDs and SSpSs traveled to the Noble Horse Theater for a live performance of the "Nutcracker on Horseback", dinner and tour of Chicago's Christmas lights and decorations.

Arlington Racecourse  On Thursday, July 31, 2008 a group of 15 members of the Techny Community enjoyed a trip to Arlington International Racecourse for lunch followed by a "Day at the Races".
